Construction worker dies after falling more than 20 feet at East Rankin Academy

PELAHATCHIE, Miss. (WLBT) - A construction worker has died after falling at East Rankin Academy, Coroner David Ruth confirmed Thursday morning.
He has been identified as Timothy Brister.
According to Mike Word with Rankin County Emergency Management Operations, Brister fell over 20 feet and suffered severe head trauma.
The Pelahatchie News initially reported the fall Wednesday around 6 p.m.
The school is currently undergoing renovations.
A message alert to parents and staff said that due to the “construction accident,” the school would be closed Thursday and Friday, with classes resuming after Spring Break.
An AirCare helicopter, an ambulance, and a firetruck could all be seen at East Rankin after the incident occurred.
