JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - Jackson’s water/sewer billing office is closed until further notice, due to storm damage sustained Sunday night.

“The public entrances and the parking lot are unsafe due to shattered glass and other debris,” JXN Water said in a Monday news release.

Several of the plate glass doors were shattered, as were many of the tinted windows that were in place there when the Metrocenter opened its doors more than 40 years ago. In the parking lot, strong winds had also knocked down a light pole and had caused damage to several city vehicles.
